Our Policies
To ensure safety, consistency, and happiness of all our furry clients, please review our service guidelines below.
IMPORTANT
Cancellations
Dog walking & drop-ins
Please provide at least 24 hours’ notice. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours notice are charged in full. We appreciate your understanding as our walkers reserve time specifically for your pet.
Dog Sitting/ Overnight Care
A 50% deposit is required at the time of booking to reserve overnight stays. This deposit is non-refundable for cancellations made within 72 hours of the scheduled start date. The remaining balance is due in full prior to the start of the service.
Payments
Payment is required in advance of services

Weather
Walks continue in most weather. In extreme conditions, walks may be shortened, modified, or rescheduled for your dog's safety.
Access
Clients are responsible for providing reliable access (key, lockbox, or code). If access is unavailable at the scheduled time, the visit will be charged as booked.
Group Walk Commitment
Group walks require a minimum of one walk per week to support consistency and positive group dynamics.
Health & Safety
Dogs must be up to date on vaccinations and free from contagious illness.
Paws by the River reserves the right to modify or discontinue services if a dog displays behaviour that poses a safety risk to the dog, the handler, other animals, or the public. This may include aggression, severe anxiety, or unsafe handling conditions.
